Dexter Splatterday!

Who's excited for the Dexter season seven premiere on Sunday? I know I am, obviously :P I had another post planned for today but it will just have to wait! I was inspired by Dexter's job as a blood splatter analyst! And then Dexter Splatterday was born! I was to excited to wait and post this on Sunday. Then I wouldn't be able to call it Splatterday. So I'm showing it to you all today! I really love how this turned out! This was my first time using the Revlon Colorstay polishes and I'm very impressed. I might have to pick up a few more!

I saw the Revlon Colorstay in Bare Bones and I knew I just had to get it! What the perfect polish to use as the base for my Dexter splatter! Bare Bones is more of a cool tone beige. I thought it was just the right shade of "dead". I also picked up Velvet Rope which as just a smidge darker then a typical red. The application was great. I am really in love with the brush! It's one of those rounded but flat brushes. It covers the nail perfectly. This is a great idea for a simple Halloween mani as well!

Two coats of Relon Colorstay- Bare Bones
Spaltter with Revlon Colorstay- Velvet Rope
One coat of Poshe

Ahhhhhhh! I can't wait till Sunday!! If you watch Dexter be sure to let me know down below! I'll probably make a Facebook status on Monday so we can talk about the episode!

  1. I love this! I'm planning on doing something for the season premiere as well, and I can only hope that it turns out at least half as good as this. I kinda suck at splatter manis.

    1. All your going to do is paint your base color then apply vaseline or tape on the skin around you nails (it's a bit messy). Take a straw, cut it in half. I personally dip the straw into the polish and then blow it on the nails, one at a time. That's it! Then you clean up around your nails.

  8. Love it! It turned out really good. I'm so stoked that our satellite company just started a special last week where they are offering Showtime for half price; now we can afford it and I don't have to miss Dexter! Can't wait until tomorrow!

  9. As a Dexter fan-girl, I have to say that 1. This manicure freakin' ROCKS!!! and 2. I was on the edge of my seat this past Sunday! The show was awesome, although I was kinda looking forward to that kinda weird, kinky idea of Dex and Deb doing the wild thing, but looks like that's on the back burner for now…
