A NerdLacquer Revival?!?!?

Whoa guys, whoa. I'm sure many of you have seen the update post on the NerdLacquer Google+ page. If you haven't, be sure to go take a look. To keep it short and sweet, Amanda disappeared in March right after having a sale on her Etsy page. I was lucky enough to score a few in a previos sale, but some were't so lucky. People were left with unfulfilled orders, and caos ensued. A lot of people were seriously pissed off, and for good reason. I just hope, now that she's explained her disappearance, people will give her the time she needs to further explain the future of NerdLacquer. I'm sure she has some way to fix everything or I doubt she would have returned. My heart goes out to Amanda and everything she went through.

Now for something a bit more cheerful! In honor of Amanda's return, I have NerdLacquer- No Medal for Chewie to show you all! I've showed you guys a few NerdLacquers in the past, but No Medal for Chewie has to be my favorite! Of course I'm biased to greens. NMfC is sort of an olive green base with gold shimmer and multi sized glitter in green and gold. The glitter ranges from teeny gold glitters to larger hexes. The thing that amazes me about NerdLacquers is that they are always super pigmented but the glitter shows through. I think that balance is hard to achieve. There are obviously some nails with more glitter then others, but they all have good coverage. I just love it!

How do you feel about the return of NerdLacquer? I. AM. SO. EXCITED.

Nerd Lacquer- Pinin' For The Fjords

Today I have one of my FAVORITE polishes for you! It's Nerd Lacquer- Pinin' For The Fjords. I know, I know, Nerd Lacquer isn't readily available anymore but if you ever have the chance to get a few from a blog sale or swap, don't think twice! I had mentioned in my last post how KBShimmer kinda fills my want for every Nerd Lacquer ever made. Nerd Lacquers's are seriously some amazingly unique polishes and it's a shame what happened with the brand. I have a few that I cherish. I even have one that I don't quite like but I refuse to swap or sell it because it's still amazing in my book.

Pinin' For The Fjords is just a beautiful polish. I will say right off the bat that my camera does not do it justice. The base color is a mix of periwinkle and lavender with an amazing silver shimmer. The shimmer overwhelms my camera a bit. From what I can tell it has silver, blue and purple glitters. What I love most about all of my Nerd Lacquers is that they are all holding up even though they are over 8 months old. With all the ruckus over curling glitters, I can confidently say that there are none in my Nerd Lacquers. They are just really nicely made. I find that most require at least 2-3 coats if used alone. I used 3 for this one. I just really love this polish! Btw, anyone know what the heck a Fjord is?

I am so so so so excited about the next post that will be up! I'll give you a hint: It's a Halloween collection!!!!!

Oh Nerd Lacquer, can you please come back? I know there is a bit of controversy surrounding Nerd Lacquer but I must say, it is probably my favorite Indie brand. At the moment there is no where to buy Nerd Lacquer's from except Ebay or swaps. I really hope Nerd Lacquer returns in the near future because I have a serious hankering for some more Nerds. I'm very sorry if anyone is having problems with Nerd Lacquer. I hope everything get's sorted out! Today I'm showing you one of my newest Nerd Lacquers, Event Horizon. I received Event Horizon from Alyson over at Beads Nails Food in a swap we did within a group on Facebook. I can't tell you how damn excited I was when I opened my package and saw this! Alyson, I <3 you!
Event Horizon is a dark greenish blue jelly jammed packed with tiny glitter. I did two coats, one thin and one thick. It applied pretty evenly and the glitter dispersed nicely. It has tiny silver holographic glitters that catch the light nicely. In the pictures, it seems slightly sheer at the tips but I find that to be fairly common with jelly polishes. I am so happy I have this polish! Picture time!

Gorgeous, no? Did you have a chance to snag any Nerd Lacquer's before they disappeared?
Don't forget to enter both of my giveaways! I hope everyone has an awesome weekend!
